Motorcycle Safety Tips for Bikefest 2021
WEAR A HELMET.
No, it’s no longer required by law to wear a helmet while operating a motorcycle if you’re 26 or old and have insurance BUT that doesn’t mean a helmet can’t save your life if involved in an accident. You never know what is going to happen. A proper helmet can save you from having a traumatic head injury if you happen to be involved in a tragic accident.
PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS.
Bikefest is one of the largest events at the Lake of the Ozarks. Attendees will be coming here from all over. That means the roads may be crowded. Be sure to pay attention to what is around you. Cars will have a harder time seeing you than you will them. Avoid being in someone’s blind spot for too long.
AVOID DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED.
Never under any circumstances should you try to drive a motorcycle while intoxicated. The consequences simply aren’t worth it. Your senses will be compromised and you won’t be fully aware of your surroundings.
