This year, the annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout will take place Saturday, August 26 through Sunday, August 27. With over 100,000 spectators coming to the lake, certain safety measures need to be put in place to help make this a fun, but safe event. The Annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout

The Shootout is the largest unsanctioned boat races in the U.S. According to Powerboat Magazine, it was named one of the nation’s 8 “must see boating events.” This year, the Shootout will take place at Captain Ron’s Bar and Grill, located in Sunrise Beach on Lake Road 5-50, mile marker 34.5. The Shootout raises money for 8 lake area rescue teams and numerous other charitable organizations. Last year, 195, 000 dollars went to 34 different charities and fire departments. You can even make a whole week out of it! There are several events leading up to the Shootout, including R/C Mini Powerboats Shootout, golf tournament, treasure hunt, PWC Dam Run, Shootout Strip street party, vendor villages, poker runs, live entertainment and much more.
