The Big Bass Bash is a tournament for amateurs only and is so popular in part because it allows amateur anglers to earn professional level money and the way they do it is simple.  Winning is not based on teams or even total weight.  It just takes one person getting one huge bass to win big.  Participants may launch from any location on the lake and will have their choice of weigh-in locations all over the lake for their convenience.  The weigh-in locations are Alhonna Resort (at end of Horseshoe Bend), Red Oak Resort (Near the 33 MM), PB2 (at the Grand Glaize State Park), and Point Randall Resort (near the Dam at the 2 MM).

Safety Tips.

While you are focused on the competition and landing the prize-winning fish, it is important not to get distracted and forget about safety.  That includes employing safe boating practices yourself AND watching out for the other guy!  To make it simpler for you, here are some great reminders of ways to avoid preventable accidents.

  1. Always be aware of your surroundings – in front, to your sides AND BEHIND you.
  2. Be mindful of weather conditions – always check the radar before going out and don’t be on the lake when there is a high chance for storms.
  3. Respect no-wake zones and speed limits – never forget you are sharing the water with swimmers.
  4. Pay attention for kayakers or paddle boarders and give them plenty of space.
  5. ALWAYS have a life jacket for every person on board.
  6. NEVER, under any circumstance boat while intoxicated.

Other Boaters.

Unfortunately, you can’t control the actions of others out on the lake, and people do get hurt.  If you have been involved in a boating accident at the Lake of the Ozarks because someone else was being negligent while operating their boat, you deserve compensation for the injuries or damage you have suffered.  Don’t hesitate to call Deputy and Mizell, we have helped clients in this type of situation and are here for you too.  Our experienced boat accident lawyers at the Lake of the Ozarks can help you understand your legal options and pursue the rightful compensation for lost wages, property damage, medical costs, hospitalization, etc.  If you have suffered the ultimate loss of a loved one drowning in a fatality, we can guide you through a wrongful death claim.  Just know if you are the victim of a boating accident, we can be there for you every step of the way.
